Dominic Lippillo RECEIVES MISSISSIPPI ARTS COMMISSION GRANT

(Jackson, MS) – Dominic Lippillo of Starkville, MS has been awarded a $500 grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC). This grant is a portion of the nearly $1.4 million in grants the Commission awarded in 2019-2020 and will be used to purchase supplies for several up-coming exhibitions for his photography series, “Stories We Tell Ourselves”. The grants are made possible by continued funding from the Mississippi State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.

“Mississippi boasts an embarrassment of riches when it comes to artistic talent in our state,” said Malcolm White, executive director of MAC. “MAC is proud to support the artists selected to receive grant awards from MAC this year. These individuals should be commended for their commitment to artistic excellence as well as their ability to communicate complex thoughts and emotions through the arts.”

Upcoming venues exhibiting Lippillo’s work include: Montgomery College (MD), Starkville Area Arts Council (MS), Boward College (FL), and The University of Alabama, Huntsville (AL). Lippillo was recently awarded a 2019 Mississippi State University Faculty Research Award for his accomplishments over the past year. In fall 2018, he was an artist-in-residence at the I-Park Foundation in East Haddam, CT where he continued working on his on-going series, “Stories We Tell Ourselves”.
