I was recently awarded a minigrant from the Mississippi Arts Commission to support activities related to my current series "Stories We Tell Ourselves". Check out the list of grant recipients here.
I was interviewed by Malcolm White on the Mississippi Arts Hour on June 10th. The interview features my colleague, Alex Bostic, and myself. We were invited on the program to promote our exhibition, "A Perspective of People", at the Mississippi Library Commission. The exhibition runs through June 28th and features the work of past Mississippi Arts Commission Fellowship recipients - Alex Bostic, James Patterson, and Dominic Lippillo.
As a former recipient of a Mississippi Art's Commission Visual Arts Fellowship, I was invited to be part of this group exhibition at the Mississippi Library Commission. I have ten pieces in the exhibition from three different series - "Stories We Tell Ourselves", "As the Fog Clears", and "Fifteen Homes".
I was the recipient of a 2018 South Arts Fellowship for the state of Mississippi. Please check out the South Arts website for more information.
