This work explores memory and social class by utilizing found photographs from both my family's archive of images and photographs purchased in antique stores and on the Internet. By using found images, I am interested in removing the depicted persons from their original context to make use of their likenesses as they become characters that speak of time periods that have passed and memories that have been forgotten. The element of fog is utilized to create a new space, a mental space. Lost to history are the identities of the individuals, but their presence lives on in these newly constructed photographs as their body language and gestures turn them into iconic figures.
